Riverboat sale pushed back to March

FORT MADISON, Iowa (AP) — The sale of the Catfish Bend riverboat in Fort Madison has been pushed back to March.

The Fort Madison Daily Democrat (http://bit.ly/13zLxAn ) reports that Gary Hoyer, the CEO of Great River Entertainment, says the sale was set to close in December and that the Iowa gaming board has approved the contract.

Hoyer says he wasn’t given a specific reason for the delay, though he noted that the unnamed buyer still has inspections that need to be competed.

Hoyer has said previously that he’s been told the buyers intend to use the boat as a restaurant in either Mississippi or Louisiana.
